24 Adar, 5766

Dear Praying Friends,

There is a crucial election coming up in Israel this Tuesday, March 28th.  Until now we have not so focused on it in our letters.  Our feeling had been that the road was already determined.  But something is shifting.  We have the sense that the many undecided voters will make their decisions standing in the voting booth.

Kadima, the party that Ariel Sharon began, is losing steam.  According to the polls, they have gone from 40+ seats to around 33.  A door-to-door grassroots campaign has revealed that many voters don’t really know the fullness of Kadima’s platform.   Without going into what people know, our point is that there is an opening to make a difference through prayer.

As you may have realized, we do not write much about political issues.  There is validity to a variety of perspectives.  But in this case we want to step out and take a clear stand.  A few things are quite evident to all who look and care.  Kadima, or we could say Ehud Olmert, the party’s head, is in favor of giving the PA virtually all of Judea and Samaria.  He was primarily responsible for setting the adversarial tone towards the settlers who, when removed from their homes, experienced a level of police brutality that sent hundreds of teenagers (and others) to the hospital.  A friend, in her letter on the elections, noted something we had not quite verbalized:  Kadima is the party of the “One World Order.”

We write to ask you...to exhort you…to pray.  Pray especially on Tuesday, March 28, the day of the election.  We believe that an upset is possible, even to the degree that Kadima would not be the party to form the next government.  Stranger things have happened.  If God has determined that it is time for us to walk down the path into the very jaws of death to bring us to Himself, so be it.  But let us not miss an opportunity to obtain mercy because we didn’t ask.  Though there be no righteous candidate, that doesn’t mean that there is no difference between them.  It would be a pity if prayer could move us further from the axis of evil and we didn’t pray.  This matter doesn’t just concern us in Israel.  The policies of our government affect what gets released in the spirit here, and that affects the spiritual climate all over the world.  This is a Kingdom battle.

May God bless you from Zion!

Your servants…

For the Glory of His Name,
