July 20, 2006 24 Tammuz, 5766 Dear Praying Friends,
This current crisis actually began on the eve of the 17th of Tammuz when two thousand years ago the walls around Jerusalem were breached by the Roman army...which led to the destruction of the Temple three weeks later on the 9th of Av. We expect that most of you know by now that the days we are in, this three week calendar period called “bein hameitzarim" or "dire straits," have seen repeated troubles befall the house of Israel throughout history. It is not by chance that this is so. As God reigns over Israel, all that happens to us as a people is appointed by our Father in Heaven for the outworking of His purpose and nature in our life, unto the revelation of His glory. What allows the enemy to break through into our cities?
As I was before the Lord in the Tabernacle, the Holy Spirit emphasized the fact that right now we are experiencing essentially the same thing that took place in the time of the Romans. Our walls have been breached. Enemy missiles are falling in our cities and in our homes. We believe that the protecting wall around Jerusalem being breached in 70 AD was the fruit of Israel’s idolatry 1,500 years earlier, when on this same date Moses came down from the mountain of the Lord to find the children of Israel worshiping like pagans before a golden calf.
The amazing thing about this moment is that spiritually and naturally speaking, a reflection of the wall of Jerusalem being breached and what took place at Mt. Sinai with the golden calf are now happening at the same time. Along with the current military situation, at our invitation tens of thousands of gay revelers will soon bring their lewd heathen worship of the creature rather than the Creator into the streets of Jerusalem...unless God intervenes. Both the seed (idolatry) and the fruit (the breached wall) are manifesting together in our day. This is a Rhema word in a Kairos moment. As always, He is speaking to those that have eyes to see, ears to hear, and hearts to understand. He is speaking to us, the Body of Messiah. This is a prophetic call for us to wake up and consider our ways. The situation at hand in the natural is the result of our having closed our eyes as a nation to the facts on the ground for years. Is there a corresponding spiritual side for us to look at?
If it is true that the physical state and condition of natural Israel is a reflection of the spiritual state of spiritual Israel -- the Body of Messiah -- and we believe it is, we as a Body must seek the Lord. The events of the 17th of Tammuz are history. The 9th of Av is yet before us. What will we do? May we not miss this hour of visitation.
Let us seek the Lord that we might receive mercy and grace, in order that we will be able to stand as a holy priesthood, even as did Moses, lifting our hands before His Presence in worship and intercession in the critical days ahead.
"If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, then how can you contend with horses? And if in the land of peace, in which you trusted, they wearied you, then how will you do in the floodplain of the Jordan? (Jer. 12:5) * * *
