14th Tevet, 5768

Dear Praying Friends,

In one of our recent letters we related a number of incidents that indicated to us that there was a spiritual attack against the ministry in the area of our finances.   One of those was that the US post office in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, one day just closed our box and retuned the incoming mail and a few days later opened the box…all without reason or notification.  Consequently we received e-mails from a number of friends that their offerings had been returned with a notice that the box was closed.  Our administrator checked into the matter and was told that the problem, whatever it was, had been corrected.  Well, we just received another e-mail from someone that her letter was returned. 

In the light of this, we want to ask if for the next two months anyone sending a check or letter to our US address, P.O. Box 10377, Cedar Rapids IA 52410, would send an e-mail to Cheryl in our stateside office letting us know that there is mail enroute so that we can monitor this situation.  We would really appreciate your help in this.  Please send your e-mails to ewusa@emmausway.org.  And…and…please…please continue to pray with us for the speedy arrival of all the Lord has sent our way. 

Already we can feel the tide turning as we head into the next year.  We have several groups and prayer tours requesting to stay at the Center and we’ve received about half of what we need to purchase a good used van.  We praise the Lord and thank you so very much for standing with us through it all.

Our plans for this week have had a radical alteration.  Instead of going away for the week to Eilat for an uninterrupted time of writing, we’ll be arriving in New York in the early morning on December 25th to join Arni’s brother at our mother’s bedside.  To date, the doctors have not been successful in weaning her from the breathing machine.  Without going into all the ins and outs of the medical picture, the situation is such that our son Jonathan will arrive in NYC on Tuesday from Australia and our daughter will also come from California.   We would greatly appreciate your prayers, first for mom’s salvation and second for the Lord’s will for her to be clearly indicated to us all.

May the peace of God reign in your hearts at this season when we celebrate that He took on mortal flesh to be with us so that we could be with Him forever.  We don’t know exactly when this amazing thing happened, but we know that it did, and nothing will ever be the same…because He came.  Praise God forever and ever!
